“Carlo Sala 1909”: Tradition and Innovation

the dream is reborn

Distilleria Sala, founded in 1909 by Carlo Sala in Sesto San Giovanni (Milan), was a dynamic player in the Italian distillation industry until the late 1950s.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Sesto San Giovanni was a rapidly expanding industrial hub, but its founder—an entrepreneur with great intuition—had a vision beyond iron and steel: to create a distillery capable of producing high-quality liqueurs and spirits, inspired by Italian tradition and innovating with modern techniques.
After more than half a century, Carlo Sala 1909 is reborn thanks to three friends—managers and entrepreneurs in life—united by a passion: mixology and the art of fine drinking. With their experience and entrepreneurial vision, they have brought back to life historic products, enhancing their authenticity and adapting them to contemporary tastes: “Bitter Carlo Sala 1909,” “Amaro il Carlo,” and “il Gino Distilled Botanic Gin” timeless classics reinterpreted for today, ready to win over a new generation of enthusiasts.
Tradition and innovation come together in a project that celebrates cocktail culture, engaging new generations without losing the soul of the past.

An Amaro inspired by ancient Lombard recipes, crafted through the slow infusion of aromatic herbs, roots, and peels, handled with artisanal care according to early-twentieth-century liqueur-making tradition.
Botanicals: A blend of selected aromatic herbs, roots, and citrus peels gives our amaro a balanced flavor with balsamic and citrus notes.
